Satyug Era – The era of divinity, purity, and
morality where there was no difference between caste, religion and sex. It is
said that in Ashoka’s period (300 B.C) if a beautiful woman wishes to go during
night carrying a basket with lots of gold than she can easily reach her
destination without any harm or fear. At that time women were also played
excellent role in education. A lady named Gargi had ‘shastrart’ with ‘rishi
munis’ (knowledgeable saints). During Later Vedic period woman started loosing
her hold in the society. She was not allowed to attend any public meeting still
she had respectable image.
Gradually the whole era turned into male dominating
society which brought many evil practices like sati system, dowry system and
female feticides etc. It was peak time of dominance and exploitation. People like
Raja Ram Mohan Roy and Swami Dayananda came up and abolished all evil practices.
As a result at present women is enjoying respectful position but situation is
not same at all parts of country. Still there are some areas where a woman is
being tortured physically, mentally and emotionally. Situation of female is
like spring which is now compressed by male society. If you press a spring for
a long period then there will be a time when it will jump off. Same situation
might also happen with female section in the society. After a long exploitation
they might jump off and lead the society. Dominance is always dangerous whether
it is adopted by male or female. This time another Raja Ram Mohan Roy and Swami
Dayananda may come and teach about equality which in result provide era of
serenity like satyug or we can also say that satyug will be back.
